Vegas Water and Workouts

Had my first alcohol in about 40 days. Bedros and I were celebrating a great day and we stopped by Umami Burger in SLS. I had a cider, he had some fruity version of a Moscow Mule. His son, Andrew, had a root beer. And they devoured a giant pretzel. Then it was off to Bazaar at SLS for a lot of meat, ending my Paleo Vegan run, too.

But I've kept away from Coke Zero and plastic water bottles. I've been drinking a lot of Vegas tap water.

According to this article (http://www.reviewjournal.com/news/water-environment/las-vegas-water-safe-drink-comes-warning), "Water that flows from taps across the valley exceeds all federal and state health standards, according to the Las Vegas Valley Water District’s annual Water Quality Report...About 90 percent of the valley’s supply is pumped from Lake Mead, where it arrives by way of the silt-laden Colorado River. As a result, Las Vegas has some of the “hardest” water in the country as measured by its mineral content."

So you can save your money on bottled water in Vegas.

Today will be an on-the-road diet day, traveling from Vegas to Toronto. It will be easy to stay away from booze and water bottles, although I needed a pre-workout caffeine boost. Tomorrow is a day of meetings in Toronto and then a drive back to the farm.

And finally this weekend I'll get back to some heavy lifting. This week's workouts in Vegas have involved a lot of rowing, bike intervals, and bodyweight exercises. Body is feeling good and ready for squats, deadlifts, and bench presses again.

I've also been involved in some dance-offs with MJ. Here I am backstage at the Michael Jackson ONE show in Vegas with Bedros K., Andrew K., Jeff Schneider from EarlyToRise.com, and his wife, Kseniya.

Today's Kickbutt Mindset Tip:
Don’t get upset if you are not on a straight line to success. Every journey is a zigzag. The key is to get back on track ASAP, to prepare a plan and act on, to get support and accountability, and to motivate yourself with a deadline. Struggle strong. Push on. Stick to your vision and never, ever give up on what is important to you.
