Deadlifts in the Garage

It was supposed to be a Deadlift workout at Powerhouse Gym today, but my schedule was changed at the last minute. I decided to replicate the workout in Joel Marion's garage gym the best I could, and it was a great session. Of course, I won't end up deadlifting 500 pounds if I train like this all the time, but it was a decent challenge.

1A) Powerblock Deadlift - 4x12 (plus two warmup sets)
1B) Box Jump - 6x6

2) KB Swings - 53 pounds x 3 x 35

3A) Double KB Front Squat - 4x10
3B) PB Shrug - 4x8

Followed by a swim. Every morning, no matter how cold the pool (and trust me, it's been cold!), I've been going for a few minute swim down here in Florida. There's no pool back on the farm and it's much colder, so I need to take advantage of the 'summeriness' of South Florida.

Today's Kickbutt Mindset Tips:
TODAY is the first day of the rest of your life. Don't dwell on past mistakes because that will get you nowhere. Instead, focus on what you can and WILL do today, tomorrow, and the rest of your life, and all of the great things that will happen because of your actions.

Don't wait for the 'time to be right' (i.e. until it's too late) to take action on your goals. If there's something you really want to do - if there is a dream body you want to achieve or a change in life you need – then find a way to do it now. Take little steps, make bigger bets, and celebrate each victory, great and small. Never give up on what is important to YOU.

Surround yourself with people who are smarter, more positive, more experienced, & fitter than you. Always play UP a level.

Seek out the best,
